The helm story

Between 2020 and 2026, AI agents went from chatbots that answered questions to autonomous workers that call APIs, send email, write and run code, and coordinate in swarms. Every organisation started deploying them — and almost none had a management layer for them.

Ships have helmsmen because a vessel under power needs someone at the wheel. Fleets need them too. FirstHelm Technologies Ltd was founded in 2026 to build the control plane for AI agents — the layer that registers them, sets their guardrails, requires human sign-off where it matters, and records everything.

Human-first AI

Autonomy is powerful; unreviewed autonomy is dangerous. The most valuable AI systems keep a human able to steer at every moment that matters.

Radical transparency

Every agent action, every human decision, and every intervention is logged and exportable. Trust comes from being able to see what happened — and prove it.

Governance as a feature

Constraints, approvals, and audit trails are not bureaucracy — they are the product. They are what let teams deploy autonomous agents into production with confidence.

Agents are workers — workers need management

An autonomous agent is a worker. Like any worker it needs a role, goals, guardrails, oversight, and a record of what it did. FirstHelm is that management layer.

Where we're headed

Today FirstHelm oversees individual agents and crews. Tomorrow it is the infrastructure for the agent-swarm era — the control plane through which organizations deploy, monitor, and govern fleets of autonomous workers at any scale, without losing the human at the helm.
